Dangal 3rd Day Box Office Collection: The latest Aamir Khan starrer has finally managed to live up to the high expectations at the box office. The movie hit theaters on a normal Friday and had an excellent day. Later on, Dangal collection showed big growth on Saturday and now it has also recorded another health day on Sunday.

Update: Dangal has created history on Sunday as it will record the second highest single day of all time. Going by the offcial figures, Dangal 3rd day collection will be 42.35 crore. As expected night shows did not have any falls due to the festive period.

Aamir Khan's Dangal has raced ahead at the box office to register the second-highest opening of any film in India in 2016.

The wrestling drama is based on the real life story of Mahavir Singh Phogat and how he trained his daughters Geeta, Babita, Ritu, Priyanka, Sangeeta and Vinesh to become medal-winning champions in the sport.

On its opening day — 23 December 2016 — Dangal registered collections of Rs 29+ crore, said trade analyst Taran Adarsh on Twitter.
He further added that the film had received some Rs 59 lakhs in collections from its Tamil and Telugu dubbed versions as well.
The highest opening day earner remains Salman Khan's Sultan, which is also set in the same milieu as Dangal — wrestling, Haryana.
Dangal opened across 4,000 screens and is expected to benefit from the Christmas weekend in adding to its collections. It is being lauded as among the best films of 2016.
